Kids Gone Toothless

Green Family Summer is an ongoing experiment in eco-friendly family travel.  Employing the latest technologies in hybrid vehicles and lightweight, low-profile campers, the Wilson Family boosts gas mileage and cuts carbon while still teaching our kids to love the outdoors.  By using solar and wind power and carbon offsets, we further reduce our carbon footprint.

How do we expect to raise the next generation of conservationists if we don't show them the wild areas of the world?  How do we learn to be tolerant of others if we're not exposed to our differences through travel?

There are no perfect solutions, but Green Family Summer uses the best of what's available right now, coupled with carbon offsets, to effectively reduce our carbon footprint to zero.  As new technologies become available, we'll be sure to reduce our fossil fuel use even further.

This is more than your average family vacation -- this is family adventure travel at its best.  We see America's wild places by camping, hiking, and backpacking our way through National Parks, National Monuments, and Nature Conservancy preserves.

Green technologies have the power to solve many of our pressing global problems.  They'll stimulate the economy by creating good jobs and an explosion of innovation, help alleviate security issues by reducing the global need for oil, and work toward stabilizing the climate.  Supporting these up-and-coming solutions now will help to pave the way for future generations of even greener breakthroughs.
