Green Family Summer is an ongoing experiment in eco-friendly family travel. Employing the latest technologies in hybrid vehicles and lightweight, low-profile campers, the Wilson Family boosts gas mileage and cuts carbon while still teaching our kids to love the outdoors. By using solar and wind power and carbon offsets, we further reduce our carbon footprint.
How do we expect to raise the next generation of conservationists if we don't show them the wild areas of the world? How do we learn to be tolerant of others if we're not exposed to our differences through travel?
There are no perfect solutions, but
Green Family Summer uses the best of what's available right now, coupled with carbon offsets, to effectively reduce our carbon footprint to zero. As new technologies become available, we'll be sure to reduce our fossil fuel use even further.
